The audiovisual industry in Madrid.
Due to a good geographical situation, to a high qualification of professionals, and to a vrey good comunication with the rest of Spain and of the world, Madrid is a leader city in the spanish audiovisual production, which is at the moment the third more lively in Europe (behind the english and the french).
All the national televisions and the digital television operators are located in Madrid. The two film laboratories with the highest production are located in this city; the biggest enterprises for renting equipment have their central offices in our city. Madrid has an "Image City" where most of the audiovisual enterprises are settled. Because of all that, the 70% of the present production, both in video, television and film is made in Madrid or by enterprises from Madrid.
During the last few years more than 100 films have been produced in Spain, but besides, important international audiovisual productions were made, with professionals and enterprises from Madrid doing most of it.
Many of these professionals come from Septima Ars. For their qualification the students produce near 80 short films every year, shot in 16mm. and near 50 live television programmes, apart from many practices in video and film, with the most modern equipments, making the incorporation to the audiovisual media, as easy as possible.
In Madrid more than 10 film festivals take place every year so many kinds of films that don't usually get to the cinemas can be seen. Septima Ars organizes its own Students Spots Constest, included in the Experimental Film Week celebrated every year.
